So I am out in my front yard at 8:45 am near the sidewalk, painting a piece of furniture that has to go to a store in a few hours. Some touch up painting. I am just thinking about getting the job done so the sun will dry the piece of furniture.
While I am painting, a jeep pulls up to my water meter at the curb, stops briefly, reads the numbers and begins to drive away. While his jeep is pulling past me the Holy Spirit whispers to me "He needs to teach".
Off drives the meter reader to the next house.
In the moment I ask the Lord what I am supposed to to do with this word of knowledge, just pray or chase him down, with the paint brush or without! lol, since he was spending seconds at each house reading meters! When he is still at the neighbors meter, I can hear who he listening to on the radio, it is Greg Laurie from Harvest!
I jump up off the grass and yell out, "excuse me", he exits his jeep, "Yes" he says. "Hey, who are you listening to on the radio?"
Great icebreaker, I don't know how he is going to receive the fact that God just gave me a word of knowledge for him. So I start up a conversation to buy some time so the Lord can give me more prompting as to how to "deliver" this word of knowledge.
He says "Greg Laurie", I say, "oh, so you are a Christsian?", "yes".
"Hey, are you supposed to be teaching by any chance?"
He went from standing on the curb to leaning against his jeep. His expression changed from curious and cautious, to receiving every word I spoke.
He explained that Greg Laurie had just been explaining the great commission and three houses before mine had instructed the listeners to go out and preach the good news! He said he was not that bold. (I think God is about to change that!)
That is teaching people about Jesus! You know, make disciples of all men! We have boxed "teaching" people about Jesus into looking like formal bible study, you know, groups in circles, coffee afterwords! Sorry, that is good and has its place, but the lost are OUTSIDE the church, come on. Ok Sorry, I have been to Jesus Culture a few times. LOL.

He was shocked at how fast God confirmed what had just been spoken and quickened in his heart in the moments prior to my intercepting him at my neighbors.
He allowed me to pray for him.
So at the curb, I laid my hand on his shoulder (I asked first) and asked the Lord to bless him with fresh boldness in the market place. I shared other things the Holy Spirit was prompting me to say, he was pleasantly stunned and touched that God would speak a word thru Greg Laurie and back it up with a sign that makes you wonder!
Come on, Revival is coming to Orange County!
